The Upper Saranac Foundation’s Board of Directors added two dynamic members earlier his year: Koko Bickford and Curt Stiles.
Koko has spent summers at her husband Ed’s family camp on Markham Point since 1968. The family sold the camp in 2017, and last fall Ed and Koko bought a camp in Back Bay. They have four grown children and eight grandchildren. Koko has taught preschool, worked in development at Noble & Greenough School, and was head of guide services at The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Koko and Ed live in Dedham, MA, where she serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations.
Curt has been spending summers on Upper Saranac since 1955 when his parents and grandparents built seasonal camps at Saranac Shores. He and his wife Susan built their current home near Wawbeek in 1985 and have been permanent residents since 1996. Curt was one of the original Board members of the USLF leaving in 2007 to become Chairman of the Adirondack Park Agency. An active outdoor enthusiast he also serves on the boards of the Adirondack Explorer and Adirondack Hamlets to Huts. Prior to full time life on USL he worked for Xerox for over 30 years and served as President of Xerox Business Services.
