Each September, hundreds of paddlers traverse the Adirondack waterways in the legendary Adirondack Canoe Classic—better known as the “90-Miler.” This three-day, 90-mile race follows a portion of the historic Northern Forest Canoe Trail, winding from Old Forge to Saranac Lake and passing through some of the region’s most stunning lakes and rivers.
On Sunday, September 7, the race will pass through Upper Saranac Lake, a key stretch of the route. At the request of 90-Miler race director Jordanna Mallach, the Upper Saranac Foundation (USF) is helping recruit safety boat volunteers to support paddlers and maintain a safe environment on the water during this portion of the race.
USF plays an important role in stewarding the lake and ensuring the safety of events like the 90-Miler. This is a great opportunity to be part of a beloved Adirondack tradition while actively supporting lake safety and recreation.
