The Upper Saranac Foundation (USF) has released its Summer 2026 Newsletter, highlighting recent accomplishments, upcoming initiatives, and ongoing efforts to protect the Upper Saranac watershed.
This edition features updates on two newly awarded NYSDEC Invasive Species Grants that will support continued aquatic invasive species management and a first-of-its-kind native aquatic plant restoration project at Follensby Clear Pond. Readers will also learn about USF’s expanded “Be Wake Smart” campaign, the latest State of the Lake findings, regional leadership in Adirondack water quality and stewardship initiatives, and the release of the Upper Saranac Watershed Management Action Agenda.
The newsletter also welcomes new board member Elizabeth “Lizzie” McLanahan, recognizes the legacy of longtime supporter Bruce McLanahan, and highlights recent grant awards from the Lake Champlain Basin Program.
“We are proud to share the progress being made to protect the water quality, ecological health, and recreational value of the Upper Saranac watershed,” said Guy Middleton, Executive Director of the Upper Saranac Foundation. “This work is made possible through the support of our donors, partners, and community members.”
