Please join us for a public meeting 7 to 8:30 p..m. Thursday, May 6, to provide feedback on preliminary goals for the Upper Saranac Lake Watershed Management Plan; your input will help guide the future health of the watershed. This online session is the second of three public meetings jointly hosted by the Upper Saranac Foundation and the Paul Smith’s College Adirondack Watershed Institute. We will present a set of preliminary goals for the plan based on the Upper Saranac Lake Watershed public survey and the discussion at the first public meeting. The public will have the opportunity to discuss and show their level of support. The meeting will take place over Zoom. All members of the community who are interested in joining the public information session should register in advance. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting and the set of preliminary goals. The public meeting is part of the effort to develop an Upper Saranac Lake Watershed Management Plan, which builds on decades of monitoring and management activities on the lake and throughout the watershed. Upper Saranac Foundation was awarded a $68,000 grant from the state Department of Environmental Conservation to develop the management plan and contracted with the Paul Smith’s College Adirondack Watershed Institute to assist. The resulting document will define community priorities related to watershed resources and establish the framework for future state funding grant proposals. A project webpage is available with meeting notes and recordings. Thank you for your interest in this effort. If you have any questions about the planning effort or logistics of the meeting please email Guy Middleton at lakemanager@usfoundation.net. |
