The Upper Saranac Foundation (USF) and the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program (APIPP) joined members of the Lake Clear Association for an invasive species training session on Follensby Clear Pond in August. USF Lake Manager Guy Middleton, along with the USF’s dive team, demonstrated aquatic invasive species (AIS) hand harvesting management techniques while removing Eurasian watermilfoil from the pond. APIPP Aquatic Invasive Species Project Coordinator Brian Greene showed participants how to identify several native and invasive aquatic plant species. The Upper Saranac Foundation is conducting AIS management, supported by a Lake Champlain Basin Program grant and the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission (NEIWPCC).
