Join Upper Saranac Foundation Lake Manager Guy Middleton at this year’s Adirondack Lakes Alliance annual symposium.

This year’s conference, “Preparing for Challenges: Tools, Resources, and Coordination,” will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at Paul Smith’s College. The focus will be on all lake and water quality issues, with an emphasis on Harmful Algae Blooms (HABs). The keynote speaker will be Judy Drabicki, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Deputy Commissioner for Natural Resources.

Attendees will learn about happenings in area watersheds and why it’s important, new tools for aquatic invasive surveillance, and how to understand water quality reports. Participants will be engaged in round table discussions with leading water quality experts. The symposium will conclude with a reception at the Adirondack Watershed Institute on the Paul Smith’s College campus.

The Upper Saranac Foundation is looking forward to involving our watershed residents in this citizen science opportunity. For more information and to pre-register, visit the Adirondack Lakes Alliance web page at:
