On a beautiful summer evening at the historic Bartlett Carry Club, the Upper Saranac Foundation (USF) hosted a special Donor Appreciation Reception to honor the generous supporters who made the successful restoration of the Bartlett Carry Dam possible.
With over 70 attendees, the event brought together major donors, lake residents, and community partners to commemorate this significant milestone in USF’s ongoing mission to protect and preserve the Upper Saranac watershed. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and drinks while mingling with friends and neighbors, all set against the backdrop of the lake they love and support.
The highlight of the evening was a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the newly restored dam—a powerful symbol of what can be achieved when a community comes together around a shared purpose. The dam project marks a pivotal moment for USF as it transitions from emergency maintenance to long-term resilience and proactive management of critical watershed infrastructure.
“We were so grateful to gather with our dearest supporters to celebrate this achievement,” said USF Executive Director, Guy Middleton. “Your continued generosity plays a vital role in protecting the water quality and natural integrity of the Upper Saranac watershed. This project wouldn’t have been possible without you.”
The reception was a heartfelt thank-you to those whose commitment ensures the health of the lake and watershed for future generations. The strong turnout and warm energy of the evening reflected the growing momentum behind USF’s mission—and the deep connection so many feel to this special place.
As USF looks ahead to the next chapter of conservation, education, and lake stewardship, the Bartlett Carry project stands as a testament to the power of community action.
