After six years of dedicated effort, the restoration of the historic Bartlett Carry Dam is now approaching its final stages. This comprehensive project has involved everything from strategic planning and securing crucial funding to hiring engineers, conducting environmental surveys and developing an Emergency Action Plan. Additionally, we’ve completed detailed engineering assessments, navigated the permitting process, and embarked on the careful refurbishment of this 100-year-old dam. Now, as we share photos of the ongoing work, we’re proud to highlight how these efforts have greatly enhanced the dam’s long-term safety and security, ensuring the protection of the Upper Saranac watershed for generations to come. With the final phases set for completion soon, the restoration marks a pivotal moment in the Upper Saranac Foundation’s commitment to sustainable watershed management.
