Began the week with a full survey Fish Creek Pond searching for Water Chestnut. No chestnut was found however along the way 18 tall multi stemmed milfoil plants were located and removed from the north and western portions of the pond. Relocated to Fish Creek Bay finding 1 (2′ tall) 3 stemmed plant in the western shallows and no plants from the northern shoreline. Relocated to the bassweed patch in front of Donaldson’s campground working south into the western portion of the narrows finding no plants in the area.
Began the day finding ideal conditions for surface spotting, plants are mostly growing to the surface at this point. A full survey of Little Square Bay was done finding and removing 1/2 of a bag of tall mostly single stemmed plants. Some were growing all the way to the surface. The majority of plants were located on the tongue. Continued north along Moss Rock Point finding no more plants.
Started the day diving the productive areas of Saginaw Bay from previous years. 6 tall 1-3 stemmed plants were removed from the northern shoreline. A full dive was done of the southern shoreline and the wide littoral north east of Pork Bay. 1/4 of a bag was removed mostly from a small patch found to the north of Pork Bay. Plants were mostly single stemmed growing 5-8 feet tall.
Began at the east side of Buck Island covering all areas except the channel finding a total of 23 small young plants. Most were found in the cove on the south eastern side. Relocated to the Camp Wenonah area performing a full line swim, 65 young new growth plants were removed.
